Jhajjar Gang: Three burglars of Jhajjar gang held – Latest News | Surat News



Surat: Three members of the Jhajjar gang of burglars from Haryana were nabbed by the detection of crime (DCB) from Rohtak district, leading the police to detect 10 unsolved cases of house break-ins carried out in different cities of India.
Using technical and human surveillance, the DCB team caught Lalit Sahu (39), Manoj Kayat (31), and Sandip Dhankhad (35) on Sunday.
The burglars used to travel to different cities and carried out a recce of posh areas by posing as cloth traders. They targeted houses in residential societies that did not have watchmen. Interestingly, they carried out the burglaries during the day. The 10 cases include a burglary in Adajan’s Sunlight Complex on December 22, 2023, in which Rs. 2.65 lakh cash was stolen from a flat. During the investigation of this case, the DCB sleuths got to know that it was the handiwork of the Jhajjar gang.
During the interrogation, they revealed that they visited Adajan, Pal, Umra, and other posh areas in December. They came in a train and stayed in a hotel. Three months ago, they also committed burglaries in the Vadi, Panigate, and Navapura areas of Vadodara apart from similar crimes in Ahmedabad, Rajkot, and Porbandar. They have targeted cities in Delhi, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Rajasthan, and Madhya Pradesh using the same modus operandi. The 10 cases solved were registered in Surat, Vadodara, Delhi, Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Bhiwandi, Alwar and Nagpur.
Dhankhad has 16 crimes, mostly house break-ins, registered against him.
“Sahu is a dangerous criminal as he has three cases under the Arms Act registered against him. Kayat has also a criminal past with one theft case against him in Delhi,” said a DCB officer.
