The  General elections of Bangladesh are to be held on 7th of January   2024 , but the  opposition parties there have announced to boycott it unless these elections are to be conducted by a caretaker government after the resignation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Bangladesh Nationalist Party leader and former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia last year demanded elections in the country to be conducted under a caretaker government only. But Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had refused to accept this demand of opposition parties. The horoscope of Sheik Hasina indicate that she may again get re-elected as Prime Minister, but the elections will not be free and fair. In the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh, the current Vimshottari Dasha and transit indicates political violence in the country in months to come.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s party Awami League has been winning the last two elections with a huge majority in the 300-member Parliament, which is due to the main opposition party’s boycotting the 2014 and 2018 elections. But this time in a shocking development, the US administration has issued a statement saying that if fair elections are not held in Bangladesh, then it can impose travel ban on many big leaders and officials of the ruling party of this country. According to the news reports, the current US Ambassador to Bangladesh, Peter Hass, met a senior leader of Khaleda Zia’s Awami League Party in the last week of October, after which Russia started alleging US interference in Bangladesh’s elections. From the astrological point of view, the birth ascendant of Bangladesh’s current Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is Scorpio, and the birth ascendant of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi is also Scorpio, which amply explain that apart from some minor disputes, both the countries have maintained good diplomatic relations in the last few years. But US interference in Bangladesh elections and the movement to boycott the election process by opposition parties may create a new problem for India on her eastern border in the coming months.

This combination of election violence and communal tension is amply clear in the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh. Born after Pakistan’s humiliating defeat in the Indo-Pak war of 1971 and the surrender of its army, Bangladesh was established on 16 December 1971 in Dhaka at 11:01 am. Although Sheikh Mujibur Rahman announced the independence of Bangladesh on 26 March 1971. But at that time there was complete control of the Pakistani army which was brutally oppressing the Bengali population in East Pakistan. After the military intervention of India the government in exile of Bangladesh took over the power which was handed over to them by the Indian forces on the 16th of December 1971, 11:01 a.m. at Dhaka. At the time of the transfer of power to the Bangladesh leaders  the Aquarius ascendant was rising at the horizon.

Assassinations of leaders and Military Coups in Bangladesh

In the foundation horoscope of Bangladesh the fiery planet Mars is in the ascendant and it get the 10th aspect of the   lagan lord Saturn placed in the 4th house of ruler’s throne . Mars in return is also giving its 4th aspect to the Saturn. So, this mutual aspect between the hard malefic planets Mars and Saturn is a combination of violence, army intervention, coups and authoritarian regimes in the country. Sheikh Mujibur Rahman became the first President of Bangladesh but later on 15  of August 1975, he and his 10 year old  son were both  assassinated in a military coup. At that time in the horoscope of Bangladesh, an  inauspicious Vimshottari Saturn and Anter Dasha of Rahu was running . Rahu is placed in the 12th house of losses and is conjoined with Gulika.

In the horoscope of Bangladesh, due to the tenth aspect of Saturn on Mars sitting in the ascendant, many military rebellions took place there later on and  in one of them the husband of former Prime Minister Khaleda Zia was assassinated.  President Ziaur Rahman was assassinated on 30 May 1981 when Mercury Dasha and Ketu Anter Dasha was running in Vimshottari. Ketu is in the 6th house of violence and is getting the 3rd aspect of  retrograde Saturn. Ziaur Rahman was the husband of Khaleda Zia. It is said that it was Khaleda Zia’s husband Zia Ur Rahman who got Sheikh Hasina’s father Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assassinated in the military coup of 1975, due to which it was natural for Khaleda Zia and Sheikh Hasina to become staunch political enemies. If seen in  this context, since India had given decisive help to Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in liberating Bangladesh from the oppressive military rule of Pakistan, hence whenever Sheikh Hasina, the daughter of Sheikh Mujibur Rehman,  was in power in the country, her attitude towards India remained positive. But Khaleda Zia on the contrary  is known for its anti-India views due to the political  support she gets from Islamic fundamentalist parties and leftist parties.

The  seventh lord (killer or Maraka) is Venus which is in conjunction with the 6th lord Mars and 9th lord the Moon. Although, the conjunction of  9th, 5th, 7th and the lagna lord is a Raja Yoga but since it is formed in the 12th house of losses, so it  is an astrological yoga of getting the power  in anadverse circumstances. In the horoscope of Sheikh Hasina, Mars, the lord of the sixth house (violence) is in conjunction with the ninth house (father) the Moon and afflicting the third (brother) house, giving her a short life. Mars as the 6th lord of violence aspect the 3rd house of brother from its 4th aspect. The conjunction of Sun (the Karaka of father) along with Gulika at the same degrees is ominous and it became even more worst as the 3rd aspect of a natural malefic planet Saturn is on it. Enigmatic Venus-Jupiter Dasha of Sheikh Hasina

In the horoscope of Sheikh Hasina’s Scorpio ascendant, the conjunction of tenth lord Sun with Gulik and the aspect of malefic planet Saturn on it also leads her to misuse of power and rig elections. In Navamsha Rahu is in the 10th house getting the 10th aspect of Saturn.  There is a possibility of rigging in the coming general elections also when Sheikh Hasina is under the enigmatic Vimshottari Dasha of Venus-Jupiter at present.  Sheikh Hasina can once again win the elections and become the Prime Minister due to the currently ongoing Maha Dasha of 7th lord Venus and Anter Dasha of 5th lord Jupiter,  but the allegations of rigging and autocracy on her victory will not allow her to enjoy power peacefully. In the foundation horoscope of  Bangladesh (chart 1) , an  inauspicious  Vimshottari Dasha of  dasha of Sun and the Anter Dasha of Rahu is running from December 2023 to November 2024 is the astrological combination of violence, fire accidents, strikes and protests by the opposition. Due to the Anter Dasha  of Rahu, communal tension will increase in Bangladesh in which the minority Hindu community will suffer particularly in the  year 2024.  This will bring some major tensions in the foreign relations of Bangladesh and India. In the Aquarius lagna foundation horoscope of Bangladesh Rahu is in the 12th house along with Gulika and its depositor Saturn is in the 4th house getting aspects of Mars, Mercury, Jupiter and the Moon.
