Ludhiana: While family members of the girl claimed that they did not get any monetary aide as assured by MLA, South constituency Rajinderpal Kaur Chinna, she said that the aid disbursal is in process. She added that the first installment of the monetary aid would be transferred into the account of the aggrieved father in the next few days. Speaking to TOI, the girl’s father said, “During the cremation of my daughter, MLA Rajinderpal Kaur Chinna assured to provide monetary help of Rs 4 lakh.This was published in newspapers but we have not received any help.” To this, the MLA said, “Monetary help is provided under the Punjab Victim Compensation Scheme. The compensation amount is decided by the court. We have recommended a compensation of Rs 4 lakh, however this can also increase as decided by the court. We took the father of the victim along to complete all the documents. The family will get 25% of the sanctioned amount in the next few days,” she added | Payal Dhawan
