Travis Kelce Extends Contract With Kansas City Chiefs to Become Highest-Paid Tight End in NFL
It’s safe to say Travis Kelce will never have to spend any of Taylor Swift’s change.
The Super Bowl-winning tight end signed a two-year contract extension with the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday. The $34.25 million deal — which includes $17 million fully guaranteed this year — makes Kelce the highest-paid tight end in the league.
“We signed the greatest tight end ever to a new contract,” the Chiefs social media team shared on X (formerly Twitter)
Kelce’s quarterback, Patrick Mahomes, also celebrated the news, writing, “I told yall I’ll never let him leave!! Congrats my guy!”
Safe to say it’s been a banner year for both Kelce and his A-list girlfriend. Following the Chiefs’ victory over the San Francisco 49ers in Super Bowl LVIII, the couple has sweetly celebrated on tropical vacations, a PDA-packed Coachella weekend, and a recent trip to Las Vegas.
And there’s even more to celebrate now, between Kelce’s extension and the success of Swift’s latest album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Swift surprised fans earlier this month with a surprise double album drop, releasing 31 brand new tracks into the world. Listeners were quick to zero in on two new love songs, “The Alchemy” and “So High School,” which many believe are odes to her relationship with Kelce.
In the bridge of “The Alchemy,” Swift appears to reference a huge win — not unlike theĀ Chiefs’ Super Bowl victory.
“Shirts off, and your friends lift you up, over their heads / Beer stickin’ to the floor, cheers chanted ’cause they said / ‘There was no chance trying to be the greatest in the league’ / Where’s the trophy? He just comes, running over to me,” she declares.
A source told ET at the time that, “Travis is so supportive of the entire album and loves that he is a part of Taylor’s story. He is a Swiftie through and through, and is very proud of her.”
