Tesla Malaysia drops prices by RM8k – Model 3 now from RM181k, Model Y from RM191k
Following reported price drops in several markets internationally, Tesla has announced reductions in prices for its models in Malaysia, with price reductions of RM8,000 across the board save for the 2024 Model 3 Performance that was just announced for the Malaysian market this week, from RM242,400.
Starting with the Model 3 ‘Highland’ facelift line-up, the base Model 3 RWD is now priced from RM181,000, down from its launch price of RM189,000, while the Model 3 Long Range AWD now lists from RM210,000, down from RM218,000 at its launch. The aforementioned Model 3 Performance was launched at RM242,000.
Next, the Model Y. The base RWD variant is now priced from RM191,000, down from RM199,000 at launch, while the Model Y Long Range AWD is now from RM238,800, down from its launch price of RM246,000. The Model Y Performance likewise is now priced from RM280,000, down from RM288,000.
All fully imported (CBU) electric vehicles in Malaysia are tax-exempt until the end of 2025, which means EVs such as those from Tesla are exempted from import duty, excise duty and sales tax.
