Sizing tech firm Makip adds new kids’ product for UK market
Set to “transform the online shopping experience for parents and guardians”, Unisize for Kids has launched in the UK.
It’s by Japanese sizing technology specialist Makip and is designed specifically for children aged 1-15, with the new feature “ensuring hassle-free and accurate clothing selections” for growing kids.
Developed in conjunction with kidswear companies and leveraging sizing technology, it utilises “statistical growth curves to comprehend various body shapes and types unique to children”.
“By harnessing this advanced algorithm, it empowers parents to make informed decisions when selecting clothing and school uniforms, ultimately saving valuable time and resources for both consumers and retailers alike”, Makip said.
It claims the integration of Unisize for Kids can deliver a 20% reduction in returned clothing and a 2.5 times increase in purchase rates.
Shingo Tsukamoto, President of Makip said: “We understand the challenges parents face when it comes to purchasing children’s clothes. We [provide] a tailored solution that considers the child’s growth trajectory over the next 1-2 years. This innovative feature ensures parents can confidently select the perfect fit for their children, eliminating the guesswork associated with online shopping.”
Already established in Japan, Makip said it supports over 300 online retail/e-commerce sites and popular fashion brands including Tommy Hilfiger, Calvin Klein and Lacoste with its sizing technology.
