RevWorks Secret Garage Meet 2.0

RevWorks Secret Garage Meet 2.0

The first rule of RevWorks’ Secret Garage Meet Club is that you don’t talk about Secret Garage Meet Club. You are either in or you will know about it the meets when the photos are published on social media afterwards.

RevWorks is a Netherlands-based modified car community that began in 2011 as a small amateur media outlet covering local happenings. Since then they’ve grown in size to run their own events – both invite-only like the Secret Garage Meet, and larger public affairs, like The RevRun and Retrospective.

I wasn’t able to attend the first Secret Garage Meet in October last year, so when Luuk from RevWorks whispered something in my ear about a second edition, I made sure I was free.

And what a night it was.

Held in a non-disclosed parking garage in the Netherland’s southeast, the RevWorks Secret Garage Meet 2.0 brought together a fine selection of cars from the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium and even the UK.

Don’t get me wrong, I love big weekend-long shows, but there is just something special about an underground-style meet like this.

Some of that has to do with the ambience, which you just don’t get in the carpeted halls of a convention centre. You really can’t beat a parking garage at night; modified cars look right at home in this environment.

I definitely did not expect to see a Spyker out in the wild. They are probably even rarer than an RWB Porsche these days, although the meet had one of those too.

Due to the sheer number of speed bumps and the strict vehicle modification laws in Germany and Belgium, I would guess that around 85% of current show cars are equipped with air suspension.

Of course, there will always be those who prefer a static ride, like the owner of this Lexus, who demonstrated why airbags are such a practical choice as he left the venue.

And just as quickly as it popped up, the meet was over. Show up at 8:00pm and be gone around midnight…

I cannot think of a better way to spend a Saturday night. The meet was also a teaser for the RevWorks Retrospective – a public event for cars 25 years and older – scheduled for mid-July in Brielle, Netherlands. I will definitely be checking that out, but in the meantime, there are more photos from the Secret Garage Meet 2.0 to scroll through below
