PM’s arrival sets stage for vggs 2024 | Ahmedabad News



AHMEDABAD: The state capital is buzzing with anticipation as Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Gujarat on Monday night, ahead of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit (VGGS). In a whirlwind of high-profile events, the PM will unveil the Global Trade Show at Helipad Ground on Tuesday and the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2024 at Mahatma Mandir on Wednesday. He will engage in diplomatic tête-à-têtes with world leaders and meet CEOs of global companies converging in Gandhinagar for the tenth edition of the summit.
On landing in Ahmedabad, PM Modi tweeted, “Landed in Ahmedabad a short while ago. Over the next two days, will be taking part in the Vibrant Gujarat Summit and related programmes. It is a matter of immense joy that various world leaders will be joining us during this summit. The coming of my brother, HH @MohamedBinZayed is very special. I have a very close association with the summit and I am glad to see how this platform has contributed to Gujarat’s growth and created opportunities for several people.”
PM Modi is set to welcome UAE President Mohamed binZayed Al Nahyan at Ahmedabad airport on Tuesday evening, followed by a 3km grand roadshow planned from the airport to the Sabarmati Ashram where the leaders will pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi.
On Tuesday, PM Modi is scheduled to inaugurate the Global Trade Show, accompanying the VGGS. The show will be open for business visitors on January 10 and 11 and for the public on January 12 and 13. Covering 2 lakh sq m, the trade show will host over 1,000 exhibitors from India and 20 other countries. The trade show features 13 halls dedicated to themes such as ‘Make in Gujarat’ and ‘Aatma NirbharBharat.’ Approximately 450 MSME units will participate in the exhibition.
During his visit, the Prime Minister will engage in bilateral talks with UAE President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Czech Republic Prime Minister Petr Fiala, Mozambique President Filipe Nyusi, andTimor Leste President José Ramos-Horta. According to senior government officials, these country-level talks are scheduled in Gandhinagar on Tuesday and Wednesday.
CEOs and top officials from 55 multinational corporations have confirmed their participation at the VGGS. PM Modiwill meet with CEOs of leading global companies at the Mahatma Mandir Convention Centre on Tuesday, with another meeting scheduled on Wednesday.
In the evening, the PM will engage with top global leaders from the fintech industry at GIFT City.
