North American Ted Baker stores start closing sales
As the Ted Baker saga continues in the UK and Europe, North America isn’t immune to its problems and “select” Ted Baker stores in both Canada and the US have begun closing down clearance sales.
Ted Baker Canada, which conducts business operations for Ted Baker in that country, plus Ted Baker Limited in the US, Brooks Brothers in Canada, and Lucky Brand in Canada announced the news late on Friday.
It comes after the operators of Ted Baker clothing stores in Canada and the US filed for insolvency proceedings late last month. Two weeks ago the Wall Street Journal reported court documents saying partners of Ted Baker owner Authentic Brands Group had stopped paying the label’s suppliers, causing delivery delays and order cancellations.
Despite the press statement referencing “select” stores closing down, the company said all the firm’s Ted Baker stores in Canada and the US are offering savings of up to 30% off original prices on the entire collection of men’s and women’s clothing and accessories. That incudes all 31 retail locations in the US, and nine stores in Canada.
Brooks Brothers Canada is offering the same level of discount off original prices on the entire selection of apparel for men, women and children and home furnishings across all eight retail stores in Canada.
And the same goes for the seven Lucky Brand stores in Canada.
The closing down sales will apply at physical stores only but as for the online ops, they’re not available “for the time being”.
