Noida Authority: Govt Land Off E-way Being Sold As Private, Noida Issues Warning | Noida News

Noida: The Noida Authority has identified several sectors and villages off the Noida Expressway where people have illegally taken over notified Authority land and are now trying to sell the same to the public.
Those involved will face legal action if found guilty, warned officials.
Officials added that the unauthorised colonisation and sale of land is happening in sectors 82, 91, 92, 93, 142, 143, 143, 143 and 144, and Salarpur, Hajipur, Bhangel, Gejha, Garhi and Shahdara villages, among other places, through plotting — a practice that goes against the Authority regulations.
The colonisers have not been identified so far.
However, the Authority has warned the public against purchasing any land without verifying documents issued and authorised by the Noida Authority. “This caution aims to prevent financial losses for the general public,” a Noida Authority notice said.
A senior Noida official said, “We have been taking action against encroachments across the city. We have been registering FIRs and taking other legal action against the violators. However, the public may not be aware of the actions we have been taking and might fall victim to the land mafia. So, the Authority has issued a public notice.”
“The public notice is a pre-emptive measure to ensure that people do not lose their hard-earned money. They should not invest in properties without properly verifying all documents with the Authority. According to the rules, they should invest in only Authority projects and schemes,” the official added.
The Authority is now deploying a multi-pronged approach to curtail encroachments, which have come up in various parts of the city. “We are taking the cases to courts, which have granted stays in some of them. We are also taking the help of the police in carrying out the anti-encroachment drives,” the official said.
Recently, the Noida Authority acted against encroachments in Ghazipur, where it sealed an under-construction building.
“There are many types of encroachments, including construction on roadsides or selling plots after launching residential schemes. Quite often, nobody is taking the Authority’s permission to do such work,” the official said.
Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M said, “Every work circle has received instructions to deploy their staff in their areas and report all encroachments to the office.”
Encroachments are blocking development projects in upcoming sectors, said officials. In several cases, the Noida Authority has been compelled to make changes in the layouts of its industrial and institutional sectors because of uncheacked encroachments.
