NCC Cadets: Ncc Cadets’ Cyclothon From Assam Reaches Danapur Cantt | Patna News



Patna: A mega cyclothon, comprising 14 cadets of NCC girls’ wing, reached Danapur Cantonment here from Guwahati on Saturday, and later proceeded to their onward journey to Chhapra and Delhi. The cyclothon, organised to mark the 75th foundation year of the National Cadet Corps (NCC), was flagged off from Guwahati on December 22 last year, with an aim to boost women empowerment programmes launched in the armed forces in the country.
According to NCC additional director general of Bihar and Jharkhand, Major General A S Bajaj, these girls were accorded a warm welcome by the NCC cadets of the Patna group on their arrival here, and also presented mementos as a token of their participation in the cyclothon. “The cyclothon will reach Delhi on January 28 after covering a total distance of 2,107km. These girls have so far traversed through Assam, West Bengal and parts of Bihar, showing an exemplary courage, physical prowess and strong determination to complete their cycle expedition,” he said.
Lauding the spirits of these girls, a senior NCC officer of Bihar group said that the cyclothon adventure would inspire other brave girls of the state to prove their mettle in different spheres of life and set a befitting example in society.
