Mytheresa is set to invest several million euros in the GoGreen Plus service over the next five years, marking the most substantial commitment to this program by a DHL Express customer in Europe.

The collaboration is expected to reduce carbon dioxide equivalent (CO2e) emissions in international shipments by using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) instead of traditional jet fuel. In particular, the alliance is estimated to result in a reduction of over 27,000 tons of CO2e emissions associated with Mytheresa’s international shipments over the next five years.

“Based on this unique long-term agreement with DHL Express on the use of SAF, we will be able to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions per order shipped,” said Sebastian Dietzmann, COO of Mytheresa.

“With this largest ever investment by a company in Europe in DHL Express’ GoGreen Plus program, Mytheresa underlines its extraordinary ESG commitment and offers its luxury customers an even more sustainable shopping experience in the future.”

GoGreen Plus was launched last year by DHL Express. The program is made possible by significant contracts with key suppliers such as bp, Neste, and World Energy, who produce SAF from alternative raw materials with a sustainable energy profile.

This initiative is aligned with DHL Group’s commitment to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, recognizing that approximately 90% of the company’s carbon footprint stems from its air network.

“Mytheresa is committed to working with us to make interna- tional express transportation more sustainable. I am delighted that we are able to offer the GoGreen Plus service by using SAF in our international network,” added John Pearson, CEO of DHL Express.

“This makes Mytheresa the first and largest e-commerce platform based in Germany to invest in SAF and to invest an impressive figure to make international express deliveries more sustainable. We hope this agreement will inspire others to take action and support the transition to low-emission transport services via sustainable aviation fuel.”

Most recently, in October, Mytheresa opened a new state-of-the-art distribution center at Halle/Leipzig Airport in Germany, backed by a partnership with DHL. Mytheresa is one of the leading global luxury e-commerce platforms and currently ships to over 130 countries.
