MBBS Student: Pensioner Gives 1L to MBBS Student in Bhubaneswar: Inspiring Story of a Tribal Boy | Bhubaneswar News
BHUBANESWAR: The tribal boy from Kandhamal district, Hebal Pradhan, who scripted a success story from a delivery boy to an MBBS student, has received a financial aid of Rs 1 lakh from a person with no big means.
Sabitri Nayak, a retired assistant matron of Police Hospital in Cuttack, who has turned out to be the real angel for Hebal, donated the amount from her pension savings.“I was moved by the journey of the boy who has dreamt big and achieved it amid utmost hardship,” she said.
Hebal, who has worked as a delivery boy in an e-commerce company to fund his dream of becoming a doctor earlier, pleaded for the financial help to repay the loans taken from private money lenders towards admission and hostel fees for his MBBS course.
After reading the story, Sabitri contacted his family members immediately and donated the money from her pension. “I told my son and husband about my wish to donate the money. My entire family was very happy with my decision,” she said.
The retired matron said her son coordinated the transaction and transferred the money directly to Hebal. “There is nothing more satisfying than helping a person in need.” She said she even received a thank you note from Hebal and his family. “The joy was reflected in the note they have sent me. I am feeling happier to have been able to help such a meritorious student,” the retiree said.
Hebal, on the other hand, thanked Sabitri for the gesture. “I will never forget such a great gesture. I will remain grateful to madam throughout my life,” he said.
Hebal, a native of Medubadi village in Kandhamal is currently a first year MBBS student at Saheed Laxman Nayak Medical College and Hospital.
