While we eagerly await the unveiling of the Maison des Métiers d’Excellence in 2025, it is now time for the Métiers d’Art to claim its prestigious spotlight in Paris. LVMH‘s division, which brings together the suppliers of the luxury giant specialized in extraordinary raw materials, is also set to open its own establishment shortly. This establishment will house its headquarters, crafts, and showrooms.
According to our sources, this space is located at 69 Rue Réaumur, in the second arrondissement of Paris, where renovations are under way. The chosen location is a Haussmannian building dating back to 1898, adorned with substantial stonework and crowned by a grand metal-framed glass roof. It spans across four levels and encompasses over 500 square meters.
This venue will serve as both the division’s offices and a showcase for all the companies it represents, complete with showrooms. The concept is to welcome not only clients but also the general public. This prestigious new address has been conceived as an open bridge to the city and the community, with the aim of fostering exchanges and commercial relationships, emphasizing the creativity that shines through the various categories and countries of the Métiers d’Art within the group, by bringing the entire production process together in one place.
In this respect, LVMH Métiers d’Art, which has also adopted its own logo, has just launched its new website, metiersdart.lvmh.com, which is easily accessible to the general public and presents its different areas of activity.
Focusing on leather, exotic skins, metal and textiles, this division, chaired by Jean-Baptiste Voisin, the chief strategy officer of the LVMH Group, and headed by Matteo De Rosa, was created by LVMH in 2015 to create a “body of expertise that is unique in the world” and also to create an ecosystem around exceptional crafts and materials. It brings together around 15 specialist suppliers, which account for more than €700 million in sales.
In the leather sector, it has invested in breeding through its partner Domaine des Massifs, as well as in tanning and finishing with French tanneries Roux, Italian tanneries Nuti and Masoni, and the Spanish Riba Guixà. It extends even to leather ready-to-wear with Robans. In the exotic skins sector, it can rely on Heng Long tannery, based in Singapore and Italy, as well as the Spanish Verdeveleno, of which it holds a majority stake.
Furthermore, it fully controls the Italian manufacturer Renato Menegatti, a reference in metal parts machining for leather goods and fashion houses, now known as M.ON.DE Metal-on-Demand. In the metal sector, LVMH Métiers d’Art also participates in the production of metal parts through GBJM, an exceptional Taiwanese metal innovation center, and through the French manufacturer of metal jewelry and accessories, Jade Groupe, equipped with workshops in France and Portugal, which joined the group in 2021.
Lastly, the entity has forged two partnerships with Japanese companies, first with denim specialist Kuroki and more recently with Hosoo, the historic silk fabric manufacturer for kimonos.
In October of last year, LVMH announced the creation of a Maison des Métiers d’Excellence aimed at preserving and transmitting craftsmanship. This venue, located in a historic building on Rue Bayard, not far from the headquarters of the luxury leader in the eighth arrondissement, is expected to open its doors in 2025.
