Lucky Shamrock Dog Treats for St. Patrick’s Day 🍀🐾 – 2 Paws Up Inc.
A quick note about dog-friendly foods… When you’re making a recipe to share with your dog, make sure there’s no added sugar or salt since those ingredients aren’t good for them. Never use vanilla yogurt, only use plain. No artificial sugar.
- 1 cup rolled oats
- 1 ripe banana, mashed
- 1/4 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 1 tablespoon honey
- 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley (for fresh breath!)
- Green food coloring (optional, for a festive touch)
- Shamrock-shaped cookie cutter
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the rolled oats, mashed banana, Greek yogurt, honey, and chopped parsley. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly combined. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to achieve a festive green color.
- Once the dough is thoroughly mixed, place it on a lightly floured surface. Use a rolling pin to roll out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness.
- Using the shamrock-shaped cookie cutter, cut out shapes from the dough and place them onto the prepared baking sheet. Gather any remaining dough scraps, reroll, and cut out additional shamrock shapes.
- Bake the treats in the preheated oven for 10-12 minutes, or until they are golden brown and firm to the touch.
- Once baked, remove the treats from the oven and allow them to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Once cooled, these lucky Shamrock Dog Treats are ready to be served to your furry friend! Store any leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
These homemade dog treats are not only delicious but also packed with wholesome ingredients that your pup will love. Celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with your furry companion by treating them to these lucky Shamrock Dog Treats!
Enjoy, and may the luck of the Irish be with you and your pup! 🍀🐾
