Latest BFC Fashion Forum episode talks to Tomorrow and Machine-A chiefs on Brexit

The British Fashion Council (BFC) has launched the latest episode of its podcast, BFC Fashion Forum, which explores topics “impacting the creative industries and the future of fashion”.

Now available is episode three, Navigating Change, that features Vogue Business Executive European Editor, Kirsty McGregor joined by CEO and co-founder of Tomorrow, Stefano Martinetto, and founder and Buying Director of Machine-A, Stavros Karelis, “to discuss the ongoing cultural and socio-economic implications of Brexit on the British fashion industry”.

The trio “highlight the necessity for a collaborative community, alongside organisations like the BFC, to support young and independent designers through times of social and economic uncertainty”.

The second episode brought together designer Jawara Alleyne, and writer and cultural communications thought leader, Yasmin Jones-Henry who discussed their shared Caribbean heritage and explored how designers can employ indigenous knowledge and traditions to create truly sustainable brands.

Episode one featured Martine Rose, founder of the eponymous menswear brand, and freelance writer and author Lauren Cochrane, who explored what it means to be a designer today and spotlighted the current generation of rising creative talent in the UK.

The fifth season will feature six episodes, released monthly. Future guests include Campbell Addy, James Corbin, Karoline Vitto, Lovelle, Odunayo Ojo (Fashion Roadman), Tolu Coker, Tora Northman and Victoria Jenkins.
