Work with team members to plan, schedule, and produce formal customer documentation to established standards, using defined styles and processes.

Research and develop information for emerging product functionality from meetings, specifications, and interviews with hardware and software engineers; manufacturing and supply chain experts; manufacturing, support, test engineers; and customer-facing advocates.

Participate in cross-functional development meetings with full responsibility for authoring documentation.

Regularly report documentation progress and issues to Seagate management and customer liaisons.

Deliver accurate publications on-schedule.

Revise existing documentation sets to address bug fixes and functionality enhancements.

Collaborate with the team to ensure ongoing process improvements for efficiency.

Collaborate interdepartmentally to improve processes affecting user documentation.

Collaborate with others, as necessary, to ensure successful documentation translations.

About the org:

The Technical Publications team supports Seagate s storage-system product assortment, which includes hardware controller and expansion enclosures, individual customer-replaceable units, and controller-embedded firmware for managing storage. We develop and maintain online help and end-user documentation describing hardware components and firmware management interfaces for Seagate storage customers, OEM partners, and distributors.

About you:

Experience in professional technical publications work in technical areas.

Comfortable working with aggressive schedules and fluid priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Proficiency with MadCap Flare, Adobe FrameMaker (unstructured), Acrobat, and Reader to author, review, and publish user documentation.

Experience with Google applications for workgroup collaboration.

Experience with defect tracking software.

Experience with version control software.

Experience with product lifecycle management (PLM) software.

Proficiency with written and verbal communication in English.

Demonstrated abilities to write concisely and clearly, to carefully edit own work and work of others, and to implement appropriate suggestions of other editors.

Detailed and thorough, with strong organizational and follow-up skills.

Demonstrated ability to learn new technologies and ramp up quickly.

Demonstrated ability to multitask and reprioritize projects as required by shifting business circumstances.

Demonstrated ability to work well with management and individual contributors.

Willingness to take on increasing responsibilities as experience grows.

Understanding of storage technologies and data storage management.

Experience with MadCap Capture and Mimic.

Experience with Adobe Illustrator.
