Jennifer Lopez Stuns in Sheer Silver Gown at 2024 Met Gala
Jennifer Lopez is turning heads on the carpet of the 2024 Met Gala!
On Monday, the This Is Me… Now: A Love Story star attended the exclusive New York City event, for which she is one of four celebrity co-chairs alongside Zendaya, Chris Hemsworth and Bad Bunny.
Lopez, 54, stunned in a sheer, mermaid-style, silver Schiaparelli gown. The dress, which showcases four butterfly wings, features 2.5 million beads and took 800 hours to complete.
The actress, who paired the look with diamond accessories, a metallic clutch, and platform heels, opted to wear her hair in a high bun and keep her makeup bronzed and glowing.
Not alongside Lopez for the evening was her husband, Ben Affleck. While the couple had rekindled their romance by the time the Met Gala rolled around in 2021, they did not walk the carpet into the Metropolitan Museum of Art together. Rather, the pair opted for complementary outfits complete with face masks they kissed through inside the event.
The Accountant star and Lopez never attended the event together while dating in the early 2000s, and have still yet to make their Met Gala debut. Even so, the lovebirds, who tied the knot in July 2022, nearly two decades after calling off their wedding, have supported each other personally and professionally this year.
In early February, the couple worked alongside each other in a star-studded Super Bowl commercial for Dunkin’. The commercial also featured Affleck’s longtime pal, Matt Damon, as well as Tom Brady and Jack Harlow.
In that hilarious ad, Affleck is flanked by Damon, 53, and Brady, 46, who come together to form the “DunKings” group and barge into a session where J.Lo and Fat Joe are working in order to get studio time and put their Dunkin’-themed boy band on the map.
“I don’t think you should do this,” Harlow, 26, tells Affleck at the beginning of the commercial.
“Last year, she came to my work. Now I gotta show her what I can do!” Affleck responds before bursting into the studio where his wife is working on music of her own.
“We talked about this!” Lopez responds after Affleck and his crew put on a performance.
Around the same time, the Batman vs. Superman actor lent his support to his wife’s This Is Me… Now: A Love Story, starring alongside her and a slew of other famous friends in the musical cinematic experience.
In an exclusive interview with ET, J.Lo revealed that her hubby was one of the main reasons she decided to create more music and pursue filming the unique project for Prime Video, saying she felt a rush of inspiration thanks to her man. The film came in conjunction with her ninth studio album, This Is Me… Now, which dropped the same day.
“When Ben and I got back together, it was just like, ‘I want to make music again, I want to get back in the studio,'” she shared with ET. “I was very, very inspired.”
