Javed Akhtar writes Purple Fest anthem | Goa News
Panaji: Renowned lyricist and poet, Javed Akhtar, has written the anthem for the International Purple Fest, which has been composed by music director, Mannan Shah, and performed by persons with disabilities. The anthem made its debut during the festival’s inauguration in Panaji.
In a heartfelt video message addressed to the attendees, Akhtar expressed his belief in the inherent qualities and roles of every individual, including those with disabilities.He highlighted the remarkable achievements of historical figures such as Helen Keller, Beethoven, thinkers, writers, and musicians as exemplars for all.
“The International Purple Festival aims to dispel misconceptions surrounding persons with disabilities,” Akhtar said in his video message. He stressed the significance of this platform in fostering understanding and allowing others to witness first-hand the inherent talents and remarkable qualities possessed by individuals with disabilities. tnn
