JAIPUR: An inmate of Jaipur Central Jail swallowed a cell phone during a routine search by prison guards earlier this month.
An X-ray examination revealed the presence of thegadget in the prisoner’s body, which was later extracted through the mouth via an endoscopic procedure at SMS Hospital.
On Monday, the office of the jail superintendent filed an FIR against theinmate, Fajju Khan, for violating the Prison (Rajasthan Amendment), Act 2015.
Khan had been arrested under the Arms Act and sent to jail on August 8, 2023. He has been behind bars since.
