H&M Group to take Arket into Poland this year
It will be interesting to see whether H&M Group’s new CEO kicks off any major strategy changes, but for now, the company is continuing on its usual path, rolling out its smaller brands slowly and steadily.
The latest development is that the Nordic fashion and lifestyle Arket brand will expand its presence in Europe with a flagship store in Warsaw.
It will be its first destination in Poland, a country that already has a well-developed fashion retail sector and its own home-grown mega-successful retail giant in the form of LPP, the owner of Reserved and Sinsay, among others.
The company hasn’t given any more details of the debut there so we don’t yet know exactly where the store will be, nor exactly when it will open.
The group debuted the Arket brand in Latvia last year, and this spring will unveil its first store in Italy with a Milan debut. The brand also took an unusual step last autumn by opening its very first shop in shop with a debut in a large space inside London’s Selfridges.
Arket launched originally in 2017 on London’s Regent Street and has been expanded very gradually in recent years. As of last spring, it had just 27 stores in 12 markets, as well as an online presence in 31 markets.
