Heroin Haul Case Ludhiana: STF names ‘girlfriend of accused’ in heroin haul case Ludhiana | Ludhiana News

Ludhiana: The special task force (STF) has nominated the alleged girlfriend of one of the arrested accused in the 950gm heroin recovery case. The STF also got a production warrant of criminal Karan Kalia, who is lodged in Goindwal jail. He will be brought on production warrant on Tuesday.
The STF said that Kalia was running a drug smuggling racket from the jail with the help of his aides, Kushal Kumar alias Kali Gujjar, Sunny Kaariya and Gujjar’s girlfriend, Priyanka Chopra.
On Sunday, the STF arrested Kushal of Mohalla Kuldeep Nagar and Sunny of Raju Colony with 950gm heroin.
On Monday, Priyanka Chopra, a resident of New Rishi Nagar, Tibba road was nominated. Raids were conducted for her arrest but she could not be nabbed.
Inspector Harbans Singh, in-charge, STF Ludhiana Range said, “Karan Kalia is lodged in jail in an attempt to murder case of 2022 when he fired at his rival. He also has an FIR registered under the Excise Act registered against him. Kalia is friends with Priyanaka and her beau, Kushal.
Both are in touch with Kalia, who is in jail, through a mobile phone. On the directions of Kalia, Priyanaka and Kushal used to procure heroin from smugglers and deliver it to their customers. The second accused, Sunny was also their accomplice.”
On Priyanka’s role, the inspector said that Priyanka would not only get heroin smuggled from one person to another but also accompany Kushal to deliver heroin on many occasions. She is married to another drug peddler, Bunny Chopra, who is lodged in jail in multiple cases of drug peddling. She started living separately from him due to their strained relations.
