Drew Barrymore Had the Sweetest Reaction to Daughter Olive Wearing Her Wedding Dress
Drew Barrymore‘s 11-year-old daughter provided the sweetest nostalgia!
On Monday’s episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the 49-year-old host shared that her daughter, Olive, surprised her by putting on the dress she wore for her 2012 wedding ceremony to Will Kopelman.
“The other night I came home and I was told that Olive has a surprise for me,” Barrymore said. “And so I came in the room and she was standing there in my wedding dress. And I looked at her and I was like, ‘Oh my God, you look so beautiful.'”
She continued, “I go, ‘That’s actually technically the second time you wore that dress because you were six months in my belly when I wore it. And I’m saving it for you and your sister.'”
For the ceremony, Barrymore wore a custom Chanel gown designed by Karl Lagerfeld that featured tulle, feathers, and a black satin belt.
Barrymore and Kopelman were married in 2012 during a ceremony at the actress’ Montecito, California, estate. In 2016, the pair — who began dating in 2011 — released a joint statement announcing the end of their marriage.
In addition to Olive, the 50 First Dates actress and the art consultant share daughter, Frankie, 9.
Prior to her marriage to Kopelman, Barrymore was married to Jeremy Thomas from 1994 to 1995, and Tom Green from 2001 to 2002. Years after their split, Kopelman married Alexandra Michler in 2021.
In a recent episode of The Drew Barrymore Show, the actress spoke candidly about removing the stigma she put on herself about divorce after the end of her three marriages.
“I had so much shame around divorce and, for some reason, something happened and I said, ‘I’m no longer willing to feel this way,'” Barrymore explained. “And it just lifted from me. And I just thought, when you get a divorce, you’re saving the precious commodity we have on this planet, which is only our time.”
She continued, “When you’re truly in a situation that isn’t functioning the way that optimally it hopes and wishes to be, we accept that and we improve our quality of life by moving forward. And divorce now to me, I don’t have shame around it. I’m, like, totally liberated.”
