Assaulting Customer: Assaulting Customer in Eatery Pune: Three Booked for Assault | Pune News



Pune: Intervening in arguments between an eatery owner and a group of three men proved costly for a 24-year-old resident of Mamurdi in the early hours of Sunday.
The incident happened on the premises of an eatery located along the Hinjewadi-Wakad road. The trio left the eatery owner alone and assaulted the man with a beer bottle, a glass and a chair.The victim sustained injuries on his head and face in the attack.
The Hinjewadi police booked the three people under sections 324 (voluntarily causing grievous hurt) and 323 (voluntarily causing hurt) of the Indian Penal Code.
An officer from the Hinjewadi police said the complainant, who is in the e-commerce networking business, had come for a party in the eatery late on Saturday night.
“The complainant told us around 3.30am, he noticed a group of three men arguing with the eatery owner,” the officer said. He said the complainant claimed as he knew the owner, he went there to check what was happening. “While the complainant was trying to pacify them, the complainant’s friends too joined him,” the officer said.
Furious by the intervention, the trio all of a sudden attacked the complainant with a beer bottle, a glass and a chair. “Seeing that, the victim’s friends ran out of the eatery and called the police. By then, the victim too had managed to come out of the eatery,” the officer said.
He said the police have ascertained the identities of the suspects. “Our investigations are on,” the officer added.
