Rajkot: Chief Justice of India (CJI) DY Chandrachud got warm applause when he started his speech in Gujarati and spoke at length while dwelling on the history and present of Rajkot City and its characteristics. Lacing his speech with humour, the CJI even spoke about the ‘afternoon siesta’ and said, “I have heard that this city goes to sleep between 1pm and 4pm.Thereafter, till 1am people enjoy at the Racecourse.”“If one goes on to count the number of tea kiosks and paan shops, one will continue counting till the end of the day,” he said sending peals of laughter among people.
