2024 Astrology: Growth, Movement, Innovation and Change

2024’s skies bring a lot of exciting and dynamic astrology, indicating the year ahead will bring fast paced movement and change. A new era will begin as Pluto settles permanently into Aquarius in November 2024.

Before then there will be plenty of astrological aspects, moves and happenings to ensure there’s never a dull moment in 2024.

Innovation and Fast Paced Growth: Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus

Taurus will be a stand out sign, thanks to an electric and ground breaking meeting between Jupiter and Uranus in Taurus. This unusual conjunction indicates both collective and personal possibilities.

Collectively, Jupiter conjunct Uranus in Taurus indicates 2024 is a year of accelerated innovation, as ground breaking discoveries and inventions will be possible. All fields can benefit from this, including technology, science, the arts, finance, climate and environmental topics as well as food supply and production. New insights around the tangible world, making the best use of resources, the healing power of nature and the importance of embodiment may also emerge.

Jupiter and Uranus meet every 14 years and when they do, exciting growth and new kinds of expansion and upgrades become possible.

Personally, if you have planets near the Jupiter conjunct Uranus degree of 21 Taurus, 2024 can be a year of breaking new ground, moving away from restriction and exploring themes of inspiration and freedom. Unexpected delights and discoveries may arrive, or a major change in direction may shake up your experiences. This will also apply if Jupiter will be your Time Lord in April of 2024.

Even if you don’t have planets near 21 Taurus, you will have a house or area of your life that is influenced by Taurus. It might be your 10th house of career or your 11th house of friends and groups – there will be one area of your life that will be alight with electric new possibilities,  a strong sense of restlessness and a desire to authentically update your existence.

Pluto, Capricorn and Aquarius: Transformation and Deep Shifts

In addition, there will be once in a lifetime shifts ahead for Capricorn and Aquarius, as Pluto finally makes its way out of Capricorn and settles in Aquarius.

For Capricorn, some of the intensity that has driven you to great depths and extreme levels of focus and control will begin to subside. You may find you’re willing to step back or let things calm and settle. This applies to any planets in Capricorn and to the topics of your Capricorn house.

For Aquarius, 2024 is the first year in what will be a longer process of total transformation and rejuvenation. Gradually, in the years to come, you may connect with your strength, discover – and start using – your power, and find you’re increasingly focused on driving towards changes you know will benefit not just yourself, but those in your communities and circles of influence too. This will also apply t the planets in Aquarius and the topics of your Aquarius house.

Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces: A mix of possibilities

Mutable signs, like Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius and Pisces, will experience a mix of influences in 2024. Jupiter in Gemini from late May will offer clues about what’s interesting now. Jupiter in Gemini can bring opportunities for growth and expansion, and can highlight the importance of exploring your interests and having fun.

On the other hand, Saturn in Pisces continues to suggest steadiness, and focus, and may encourage you to slow down and be more intentional with your choices and commitments.

Planets or angles that are placed from 9 – 19 of any of the mutable signs will get a strong dose of both Jupiter in Gemini and Saturn in Pisces this year. If that’s you, you might dance between the need for adventure and discovery and a craving for simplicity and security.

Aries, Libra and Pisces: Eclipses and Intensity

Eclipses will light up the signs of Aries, Libra and Pisces in 2024. These signs – and these houses in your chart – may be all consuming and require your full attention.

A dramatic solar eclipse in Aries in April ushers in a new cycle of leadership, agency and initiation, which can help point you towards a new way of being. You may take charge to follow an independent goal, or realise your priorities matter.

Eclipses in Libra in April and October promise release and can help with endings and letting go. The Libra eclipses in 2024 are South Node eclipses and may help you shift your habits and patterns in relationships.

The Libra eclipses in 2024 are deeply spiritual and may inspire you to take a more mystical or meaningful approach around the topics of any planets you have in Libra, or around the topics of your Libra house.

There will also be the first eclipse on the Virgo/Pisces axis, in Pisces in September. This will begin the transition into a series of eclipses that will influence life in 2025 and beyond. Healing, feeling and connection, as well as the importance of pleasure and purpose may become increasingly important.

Your Thoughts on 2024?

In general, I am excited about the year ahead and the variety of possibilities it might bring. That said, I also know there will be periods of chaos and instability too – with so much happening at once, there will need to be adjustments and negotiation. A major aspect in the longer running Jupiter and Saturn cycle indicates a pushing, driving energy that shows a push for advancement. But according to whose agenda or priorities? Being clear on what you’re striving for will help you stay on track.

Jupiter in Gemini from late May 2024 has a busy, buzzy quality but it also can describe a scattered, doing too much at once tone as well. Staying focussed amidst the swirl of movement may be a challenge this year.

These are just a few of the astrological highlights – and my thoughts about them – for 2024. If you’d like even more insights about the energy of 2024 and how to align your intentions and efforts with the coming cosmic currents, check out my 2024 year ahead webinar.
