Noida Office: Noida office set to get a new address by this Nov – Noida Authority | Noida News
Noida: Noida Authority is planning to relocate to its new office in Sector 96 off the expressway by November this year. The Authority has engaged a consultant to fix issues after an IIT-Delhi study raised concerns about structural defects in the building.
Officials said, “The highlighted issues will be rectified by February. We aim to intensify construction efforts and will instruct the construction agency to increase their workforce if necessary, ensuring project completion by June 2024 to facilitate the relocation by November.”
As the building remained without plaster for an extended period, the Authority conducted surveys by a private agency and IIT Delhi last year to evaluate the potential effects of sunlight, wind, and water on the building’s structure and strength.
Noida Authority CEO Lokesh M had earlier told TOI that while the IIT report highlighted some structural issues, it stated that there were no major issues with the overall safety and strength of the building.
The Authority has assigned two junior engineers and one manager to keep a close tab and ensure compliance with rules and regulations for effective project monitoring.
Once operational, the new office will bring various Authority offices spread across the city under one roof, including the main administrative office in Sector 6 and those in Sector 19, Sector 20, and Sector 39.
Although the project, started in 2016, has missed several deadlines, officials said they would shift to the new office this year under any circumstances.
The construction of the new office commenced on January 5, 2016, with an initial completion date set for January 2, 2019. However, due to substandard work and a 451-day delay, the original contractor was blacklisted in 2022. Consequently, the project was transferred to a new contractor in October 2022, aiming for completion by January 2024.
Initially conceived as two towers with 18 and nine floors, the project underwent revisions during the seven-year construction period. The current plan involves the construction of two towers — four-floored and eight-floored — on a 6-acre (24,000 sqm) plot. The revised project budget has been adjusted to Rs 303.92 crore from the initial estimate of Rs 478 crore.
