MHA issues official letter to transporters on government’s version of hit and run law | Mumbai News

Mumbai: The Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has responded to a request by transporter associations for a written letter to address the confusion prevailing in various parts of the country regarding a strike.
Finally, an official letter has been issued to the All India Motor Transport Congress, putting to rest the rumors and apprehensions that the government has not provided anything in writing regarding the implementation of clause 106 (2) concerning hit and run cases under the Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita 2023. The letter also clearly states that the said clause has not been implemented yet and a decision to invoke it will only be taken after due consultation with AIMTC, as stated by core committee chairman Bal Malkit Singh.
He has appealed to truckers across India to resume their duties and ensure that the transportation of essential commodities and other goods is not affected.
