About the Organizers

The Corporate and Business Law Cell (CBLC) at the School of Law, UPES, Dehradun, is a student-led initiative that focuses on bridging the gap between academic learning and practical experience in corporate law.

The cell promotes research, professional development, and industry interaction through various initiatives, including competitions, workshops, and conferences.

About the Event

The International Competition on Negotiating Transactional Documents (ICNTDs) is a premier competition designed to provide aspiring legal professionals with hands-on experience in negotiation, drafting, and due diligence within the realm of Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A) transactions.

The competition simulates real-world corporate negotiations, allowing participants to develop practical legal skills.

Eligibility

• Open to law students enrolled in undergraduate or postgraduate programs from recognized universities worldwide.
• Teams must consist of two members from the same university.

Location & Mode

• Online Rounds: Prelims, Quarterfinals, and Semi-finals
• Offline Round: Finals at UPES, Dehradun, India

Registration & Submission Procedure

• Teams must register through the official link provided at the end of this post.
• After registration, teams will receive the Problem Statement & Transactional Documents to prepare their Issues List Submission.
• Based on the Issues List evaluation, qualifying teams will proceed to the negotiation rounds.

Important Dates

• Registration Period: January 5th – February 15th, 2025
• Release of Problem Statement: January 15th, 2025

Online Rounds

• Prelims: March 20th – 21st
• Quarterfinals: March 24th
• Semi-finals: March 25th

Offline Finals (UPES, Dehradun): April 13th, 2025

INR 2500 per team

• Winner: ₹20,000 Cash Prize + Certificate of Merit
• Runner-Up: ₹10,000 Cash Prize + Certificate of Merit
• Best Negotiation Team: ₹5000 + Certificate
• Best client: ₹3000 + Certificate
• Best counsel: ₹2000 + Certificate
