Foggy: Foggy Conditions in Raj: Drop in Day Temperatures | Jaipur News

JAIPUR: With active western disturbances, cloudy and foggy conditions prevailed across the state on Monday. Though it did not impact the minimum temperatures, the maximum temperatures dipped across the state. Met office said that many districts are likely to witness rainfall and hailstorm in the coming days. Alwar remained coldest in the state where a maximum temperature of 3.0 degree Celsius was recorded.
Met office said that on Tuesday many districts including Bundi, Kota, Jhalawar, Jalore, Sirohi, Rajsamand, Udaipur and Chittogarh are likely to witness hailstorm and rainfall.
People in Jaipur woke up amidst fog and dense cloud cover in the morning. Minor drizzling took place during the early morning hours in the outskirts of Jaipur. A minimum temperature of 8.5 degree Celsius was recorded. It was followed by a chilly afternoon having a maximum temperature of 16.7 degree Celsius. In the afternoon the roads wore an empty look as people confined themselves to their homes and offices.
Due to abrupt weather conditions the traffic on the highways connecting Jaipur to Agra, Jaipur to Delhi and Jaipur to Ajmer was chaotic. Also, a flight from Hyderabad to Jaipur was diverted to Ahmedabad and nearly 20 flights were delayed and 3 flights were cancelled at Jaipur airport. Early morning Jaipur bound trains got delayed due to foggy conditions.
Due to cloudy conditions, there was not much impact on the early morning temperatures, however during the day there was a dip of almost 4 degrees Celsius in the maximum temperatures across the state. “Usually, the maximum temperature during this time remains around 20 to 22 degrees Celsius. However, on Monday the maximum temperatures were between 13 to 17 degrees Celsius at various places in the state,” said a Met officer.
