Fire Stations: 14 Fire Stations To Come Up In 6 Sectors Of Magh Mela Campus | Allahabad News

Prayagraj: This year authorities of fire department have installed advanced firefighting systems to make Magh Mela area fire proof. For the first time, Magh Mela police authorities have set up 14 fire stations in six sectors of mela campus. Chief Fire Officer (Prayagraj) RK Pandey told TOI, “ Mela police have roped in as many as 20 Motor Bike Fire Fighting Systems (MBFFS) as part of fire safety measures in all six sectors of mela premises.”
These MBFFS will be used as first-aid responder to control fire within no time as they could be easily driven into the narrow lanes of the mela campus.Also, the mela police have also ensured the installation of MCBs (Miniature Circuit Breaker) at all pandals, tents, camps and government offices to check the cases of short circuit, which often causes fire during religious events. Apart from deployment of advanced fire-fighting equipment’s and over 500 fire officials, there would be a water hydrant at a distance of every 60 meters inside the mela premises with an aim to offer adequate supply of water in case of any fire incident.
Moreover, fire department has set up 14 stations for fire control and management. Besides, 10 watch towers have also been set up to maintain a close eye on pandals and tents. These watch towers would help fire personnel to access smoke or fire at pandals or tent, and firemen assigned duties at sector wise fire stations would be immediately taking action to control fire.” MBFFS is the latest and advanced fire-fighting equipment which uses power of the motor bike engine to generate water mist using high pressure pump. It consists of high pressure driven pump, water tank and high -pressure hose reel fitted with jet gun.
Besides, department has also roped in 20 fire tenders with the capacity 5000 liters, and 30 fire tenders with the capacity of 2500 liters, which could be helpful to control big fire incidents in and around mela premises. In fact, this year fire department has also installed fire tenders at all railway stations of Prayagraj district including Prayagraj junction, Phaphamau, Prayag, Prayagraj sangam, Cheoki etc.
