Direct Buses: Roadways To Start Direct Buses From Noida To Ayodhya | Noida News
Noida: The UP Roadways has planned to launch a bus service to Ayodhya from Noida after January 22, when the Ram temple is scheduled to be inaugurated. As of now, there is no direct bus service on the route. Initially, the depot will send one bus to Ayodhya per day and the number of buses will be increased if the demand rises.
The Uttar Pradesh State Road Transport Corporation (UPSRTC) is in the process of finalizing the bus route and identifying an authorised fuel station in Lucknow. The fare structure is also yet to be worked out.
UPSRTC Lucknow has instructed all the depots to make a route plan for buses from each district to connect Ayodhya, as per sources. At least one bus from each depot is expected to be in service to Ayodhya.
According to UPSRTC assistant regional manager (Noida), NP Singh, a bus can cover up to 500 km after filling a full tank of CNG. “The distance from Noida to Ayodhya is nearly 650 km. UPSRTC buses are allowed to fill CNG from only authorised stations,” Singh added.
At present, there are nearly 370 CNG buses that ply from Noida and Greater Noida depots to neighbouring districts including Ghaziabad, Meerut, Agra, and Lucknow among others.
Meanwhile, private operators are already offering bus services from Delhi to Ayodhya. Shyam Lal Gola, president of All India Luxury Bus Union, said that at present 250 buses run from Delhi’s Sarai Kale Khan, Anand Vihar, and Kashmiri Gate depots and to Ayodhya and neighbouring districts.
He adds, “Since there are not any authorized bus stands in Noida, the buses do not stop there. It takes about 10 hours to reach Ayodhya from Delhi NCR and the fare is Rs 1.5 per km. The demand for bus service from the Delhi/Noida route is increasing. However, we have not received any request or communication from the local authority or government. We can engage more buses if the demand increases.”
