Delhi Govt: Delhi govt has failed to curb pollution: BJP | Delhi News

NEW DELHI: BJP on Monday alleged that AAP government had failed to control pollution in the capital due to mismanagement, which was evident in the non-payment of salaries to the employees of the smog tower at Connaught Place.
“Delhi could not get clean air even for a single day in the last two and a half months,” said the leader of opposition in the assembly, Ramvir Singh Bidhuri.“Their seriousness could be seen from the fact that the smog tower built at CP for crores of rupees was closed for the second time (on Saturday),” the BJP legislator said. The smog tower was made operational again on Monday.

Bidhuri alleged that Delhi government made such plans only for publicity and without following the rules and regulations. “The staff here complain that they were not even provided basic facilities like drinking water and accessible toilets. They did not even have basic equipment and safety gear. In such a short time, it has deteriorated and is no longer functioning fully,” he alleged.
Delhi government minister Saurabh Bharadwaj had earlier accused central government of “deliberately spreading mismanagement”, adding that officials were not following orders given by the ministers.
