Guwahati: The coordination meeting of eight cells of the state BJP was held in Assam’s Kamrup district on strategies to connect voters, particularly the farmers, women, youth and the economically weaker sections, and rope in the votes in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
BJP’s state president Bhabesh Kalita said emphasis has been given on creating a roadmap to reach out to the people of all quarters of society and spread the initiatives that the BJP governmnet has taken over the years for the all-round development of the state as well as the country.
He added that discussions were held on various issues and subjects with the women cell, youth cell and minority cell and they have been directed to aggressively work on the ground.
Kalita said the party is eyeing to win as many seats as possible in the elections. The party had won seven seats in Assam in 2014 Lok Sabha polls and nine seats in 2019.
Meanwhile, spokesperson Rupam Goswami said the national leadership of the party has taken up 11 special programmes which will involve the farmers, women and youth. The programme will continue for 70 days. “The state BJP will also take up similar activities in the state. The state BJP is also planning to hold a meeting with the new voters soon,” he added.

Senior BJP leaders from Chhattisgarh met party candidates who lost recent assembly polls to prepare for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The BJP won 54 out of 90 assembly seats in Chhattisgarh, while Congress won 35 and Gondwana Gantantra Party won one. The candidates were asked to strategize to improve the party’s prospects in their respective assembly segments. Chhattisgarh BJP Chief urged party workers to connect with each other and the public through the ‘Namo App’ and become brand ambassadors for the app. The party aims to win all 11 Lok Sabha seats in the state.
