Breast Cancer: AICOG 2024: Public Forum on Breast Cancer Advocacy in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News
Hyderabad: The 66th All India Congress of Obstetrics and Gynaecology (AICOG 2024) held a public forum on breast cancer advocacy on Tuesday. “There is a pressing need for gynaecologists to make women ‘breast aware’ and to refer patients in time to specialists,” said Dr Shantha Kumari, chairperson of AICOG 2024.
“Gynaecologists are often first point of contact for women presenting with breast diseases. It is important to ensure women presenting with a lump get triple assessment: Clinical exam, mammography, ultrasound guided core needle biopsy,” said Dr P Raghu Ram, founder-CEO of Ushalakshmi Breast Cancer Foundation. tnn
